MaltaCat Helping cats across Malta
A group of people who love cats — and help cats in Malta

We help cats in Malta with deep diagnostics, second opinions, treatment support & homes

We work closely with the cat shelter Claws and some of the best vets in Malta. We take complex cases, spend as much time as needed per cat, and help families make confident decisions.

About MaltaCat

We’re not a clinic and we don’t replace veterinarians. We’re a dedicated team supporting cats in Malta, working alongside Claws Shelter and trusted veterinary professionals.

Unlimited time per cat

Clinics are often time-limited. We’re not — so we can go deep into history, symptoms, labs and imaging. That often means a more precise hypothesis and better questions for your vet.

Working with Claws shelter

We support Claws (C-L-A-W-S): rescue coordination, fostering support, urgent needs, and helping cats find safe, loving homes.

Complex cases — including FIP

We specialize in tricky diagnostic situations, including suspected feline FIP, and help navigate the pathway to appropriate treatment with experienced vets.

What we do

From second opinions to fostering and community cat support — structured, practical, humane.

Diagnostics & second opinion

Case review, symptom timeline, lab interpretation, question list for your vet, ongoing support.

Treatment navigation

We help you follow a plan, track progress, and stay organized — always alongside your veterinarian.

Fostering & temporary care

Guidance, logistics, and hands-on coordination when a cat needs a safe place to recover.

Rescue coordination

Support for community cats: advice, referrals, triage, and coordination of help where possible.

Focus

Complex diagnostics — with special focus on FIP

FIP is all about details: symptom progression, labs, imaging, response over time. We help structure the information, avoid missing key signals, and navigate toward the right care team.

  • Deep review of history, labs and findings
  • Preparation for specialist vet visits
  • Support through treatment & monitoring (with your vet)
  • Coordination and clarity when the situation is stressful
Important: we do not replace your veterinarian and don’t prescribe treatment “instead of a clinic”. We strengthen decision-making: deeper case workup, second opinion, navigation and support.

Adopt / Foster

Adoption lives on our dedicated site: adopt.maltacat.org.
